Bubbles & Bites Brunch

There's nothing better than the adrenaline rush after hosting an event, especially one that brings some of the most inspiring, entrepreneurial women together in one room for my favorite activity: brunch. What started as an idea between my friend and fellow business owner 6+ months ago to combine forces for an event became a reality last weekend. We pooled together our resources and co-hosted an event to celebrate the launch of her new brand Established 82 (a new blog/resource for millennial business owners) and to take time to toast to being your own boss. And to say it was a truly collaborative experience would be an understatement. It was pure bliss and I'm still beaming from it.

Jasmine is an experienced event planner which I can now attest to is the best idea ever. Even when hosting an intimate gathering like we did. She helped keep all of us on track, on time and kept the energy up with her calming, positive spirit amidst all the organized chaos. She thought of everything, including many items that often go overlooked at offsite events.

The venue Locale, is beautifully designed, naturally lit co-working space that provided the most stunning backdrop for our designer/stylist extraordinaire Shannon to do her magic and make the amazing tablescapes you ever did see (accented with her calligraphy skills on the table cards and mini chalkboard signs)! She brought in pieces from her home (including a stunning gold bar cart) along with a few vintages pieces from Verdigris and glassware from Mintwood Home

The food and drink was provided by locally-made vendors: A mouth-watering spread of my latest obsession: Swap Foods' mini waffles (aka "swapples"), toasted with assortment of dipping sauces, bubbly with a splash of Element Shrub's Cranberry Hibiscus and Bloody Mary bar featuring Backpocket Provisions Bloody Brilliant mix (all produced in DC's Union Kitchen) and Deep Eddy Vodka. Throw in some good tunes on Locale's surround sound speakers, some wonderful conversations and friendships (new and old) and you have yourself a successful party!

And last but not least a big thank you to Natarsha Wright for sharing your talents with us to capture the festivities (in the photos below) so we can relive the memories. A picture is worth a thousand words, and I have no other words to describe how truly grateful I am for the opportunity and to do good work with great people. It takes a village and I feel so fortunate for all the people in my life who make everyday worthwhile including these ladies. #ACreativeDC
