Personalized Gift Ideas for Travelers

I thought I'd share some of my favorite personalized gift ideas all inspired by places that are close to my heart. I am a sucker for all things sentimental and personalized and these gifts are no exception.

The New York Times 36 Hour Book

The 2nd edition of the US Edition or get one of the regional books. I have the South East region book and used it on our (third) cross country road trip from Austin to the east coast. They're full of ideas and for weekend getaways at places off the beaten path. Curated by the NYT, so you know it's gonna be good...not your typical travel guide.

Naked Decor Pillow

I discovered this local home decor company after seeing them at various markets and festivals around town. I bought a DC neighborhood pillow at the Cherry Blossom Festival (at a discount) but they have a variety of other major cities and some cute dog and cat pillows and accessories too. (Don't be distracted by the nearly naked guys modeling them, hence the name).

Ork Posters

These screen printed maps (made in Chicago) are an outline of the city filled with text of the various neighborhoods. I have the DC and heart ones (both given to me as gifts). They have most major U.S. cities and a few international ones too.

State Traditions

Based in Birmingham, Alabama they make hats, belts, shirts, key chains, bowties and you name it. All inspired by colleges across the country. Search by state and then select your school and show off your pride. The North Carolina hat is on my hubs' wish list!

Kendra Scott

Austin's entrepreneur is known for her gorgeous costume jewelry. Pick out your style and then customize your look with colors inspired by your destination. My favorite are burnt orange earnings (to wear in Austin, of course).

Airport Prints

Also based in Chicago, this Kickstarter ideadidn't get funded but the NOMO shop has a number of other cool graphics including race tracks, golf courses, and a map of the Tour De France.

Airport Tag Tote Bag

Kind of obsessed with Captain Greg and his collection of pillows and prints based on various airport codes. The DCA bag is pictured above, but you can also find coffee mugs or gift cards.

Mark & Graham Passport Case

Don't forget to pack your passport (in a monogrammed case) The sister company to Williams-Sonoma specializes in personalized...everything. And bonus, all orders come in the cutest gift boxes ever (thanks to my God mother for introducing me to this company)!

Charlie Hustle Shirt

This KC shirt company (I first heard about from a fellow blogger/Royals fan from my hometown of Lawrence, KS) got their big break recently with the Royals playing in the World Series. I have the heart KC shirt but they have more including other vintage inspired sports teams and cities too.

While not the best winter shoes, they are super comfy to travel in and come in a variety of colors and styles.

What are some of your favorite travel and personalized gifts? What is on your list? Always looking for new fun products that have a personal touch! Would love to know, so please comment below.
