Redesigning the Website for St. Vincent Wine Bar & Restaurant in Washington, DC

St. Vincent Wine Bar & Restaurant opened its doors in Washington, DC during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenging environment, St. Vincent quickly became a neighborhood favorite, known for its wine garden, charcuterie boards, and inviting outdoor and indoor spaces.

Initially, with limited resources, the team set up a website on Square, the payment platform, which provided basic functionality but limited design capabilities. As the restaurant grew in popularity, they needed a more sophisticated website that could capture their brand’s essence and offer a better user experience.

Solution: A Custom Squarespace Website

To address these challenges, we transitioned St. Vincent’s website to Squarespace, for a fresh, customized look that supported their popularity and aligned with their brand identity.

We used St. Vincent’s logo as the primary inspiration for the website’s color scheme and typography, creating a cohesive look. The logo’s moody and sophisticated palette informed the color design, while its elegant font inspired the typography choices.

With the updated site, St. Vincent’s menus and special event spaces take center stage, allowing customers to explore menu options and event spaces easily. A dedicated live music page showcases the upcoming event schedule, making it easy for patrons to plan visits around their favorite performances and special events, enhancing engagement and repeat visits.

We added hours and contact info more visibly in the footer and throughout the site so people know when they are open for business and hours of the kitchen (and daily specials).

With a fresh design anchored in St. Vincent’s logo and brand identity, the new Squarespace website provides a professional, engaging, and cohesive online presence. Visitors can now fully experience the welcoming ambiance of the wine garden and restaurant before they arrive, while streamlined booking and event information support St. Vincent’s business growth. This redesign has positioned St. Vincent as a standout destination for locals and visitors alike, offering them a memorable dining experience from start to finish.
